Periodic Inspections carried out on Domestic, Commercial and Industrial Installations.

All testing strictly in accordance with "The Institution of Electrical Engineers" code of practice, Wiring Regulations (BS7671:2001) Part 7, and HSE requirements as laid down in the Electricity at work regulations 1989. Our engineer holds City and Guilds qualifications 2391 (Electrical Inspection and Testing) and 2381 (16 edition wiring regulations).

As advised in the above regulations, the extent and limitations of any testing should be agreed prior to any testing taking place. The extent of the electrical installation normally defined for the purpose of a report, is the entire electrical system from the meter point, and all associated circuits. Standard limitations would normally apply, and are as follows. Formal visual inspection limited to removal of approx. 25% of fixed accessories. Insulation resistance limited to measurement between earth and phase/neutral together where appropriate as per regulation 713-04-01. In the absence of existing circuit designation, the number of points supplied will be estimated, every effort will be made to identify circuit details in the time allocated for testing. Unidentified circuits will be noted in section "G" of the report (SUMMARY OF THE INSPECTION) for further investigation. Cables concealed within trunking and conduits, or cables and conduits concealed under floors, in roof space and generally within the fabric of the building or underground would not be inspected.

During the testing procedure, for a proportion of time, a complete shut down of the installation would be required. Often, due to the nature of business requirements and the need for a supply to be maintained in certain areas, it would mean that a proportion of testing would be done over the weekend, evenings or non production periods.
